I have been overweight for most of my life, and have decided that I need to lose the weight once and for all.
Whilst I was growing up I was always an overweight child and people said all the nice things like it’s just puppy fat or you are big boned but the weight gain continued. As I went into my 20s I was still morbidly obese. My friend joined weight watchers in 2002, and I thought I’d give it a try. It turned out to be just the push I needed and I lost 14 stone in just under 2 years before my wedding in 2004.
However medical problems followed, along with pure laziness, and by the time the same friend got married 2 years later I had regained all the weight, and by 2011 was the biggest I had ever been. I started again with Weight Watchers on the new Pro Points Plan in January 2011 weighing in at a hefty 31 stone and 10 pounds, then swapped to Slimming World due to the availability of meetings for a few months. I started my year long Dyde’s Diet challenge on Friday 1st July 2011 and it ran until Saturday 30th June 2012, when I had managed to lose 3 stone and raise over £500 for charity. However due to long term mental illness resurfacing I went on to regain the weight again.
I am now in a better place mentally and enjoying life again and as I still have a lot to lose I have decided to return to WeightWatchers. I am going to restart this blog as I try to lose the 20 stone I need to and provide a forum in which to store and share receipes.
